How I Use AI Behind the Scenes of My Day-to-Day Marketing Tasks

February 27, 2026

< back to podcast home

AI isn’t going anywhere, so you might as well get good at using it.

I use AI in my marketing work every week. Not to replace thinking. Not to shortcut strategy. But to move faster, clean up busy work, and expand what my team can produce without expanding hours.

There are hundreds of AI tools out there. These are the ones I actually use and why.

For Content Writing & Strategy

Grammarly has been in my toolbag for years. Its is a non-negotiable for me. Grammarly is my final filter before anything goes live ranging from emails to blogs, captions, and slide decks. I don’t use it to write for me. I use it to tighten what I’ve already written and it’s AI features help me do the job.

ChatGPT is helpful for overall use, including image generation, blog writing, project outlines, analysis, research, and more. It’s an easy tool for brainstorming content and ideating fresh strategies. I like to “converse” with ChatGPT in order to work through ideas in a collaborative fashion rather than giving it one-sided prompts. By putting fuller, more original thought into my prompts, the results are usually much more on point. Just don’t forget to fact-check its provided data and sources when using it for research or summaries—even though it is one of the models less liable to “hallucinate,” it can still misinterpret your prompts or need more refined search parameters.

For Graphic Design & Web Design

Canva is one of the most versatile online design tools out there, and I know this is a favorite for my team at Go Getter Marketing Group as well. I use it for cleaning up images, creating social media graphics, creating video content for social media, and more. Our team has been exploring Canva AI features more now that they are getting better. We’ve used Canva AI to enhance photos and graphics.

Lovable is fantastic for designing websites, landing pages, and even apps with AI—no coding required. I use lovable to create ideas and frameworks for web pages that I want to use on my WordPress site (although you can keep your web hosting with Lovable as an option). It not only generates visually stunning web pages quickly, but it’s also excellent at writing headlines, captions, and website copy with the right prompts and direction.

For Content Creation & Social Media Management

Loom is my go-to tool for short video clips to send people instead of meeting in person. I also use it to edit pre-recorded videos based on text scripts. I’ve used its editing feature to create and edit video content for several of my online courses. Simple, low-tech, no video editor required. It can turn any video into a comprehensive, actionable document. What I like most is that you can use this to collaborate internally with your team, create new marketing content, repurpose video content into written content, and communicate with your audience or clients.

Quso AI (formerly Vidyo) is great at creating social media friendly clips from long-form video content. It’s what I use to select and caption clips from my 10 Minute Marketing podcast! This takes the hassle out of watching long videos to find snackable moments to share, and then reformatting clips over and over for different social media platforms. Plus, I have more control over the accuracy and pace of the captions than I would by letting the social networks auto-caption clips for me. I end up with engaging, platform-specific, accessible social media content ready to share across my channels.

Note: Always get written permission before using AI to impersonate anyone’s image or voice. This applies to teammates, influencers, and even yourself. For influencer partnerships, ensure your contract specifies if AI twinning is allowed and the acceptable level of AI integration with real footage.

For Any Busy Working Professional or Entrepreneur

NotebookLM is a Google AI Tool that I use to generate infographics, slide decks, and audiovisual clips from within my own workspace. I upload my sources such as presentation outlines, research, and background information and within minutes it can generate a well-designed slide deck or infographic that I can customize and use for workshops, presentations, webinars, and more. For marketing team leaders and business owners, it’s super useful for trimming down your daily to-do lists by researching, summarizing, and preparing documents for your review.

Gemini is Google’s primary AI product. Currently, I use Gemini within my Google Workspace in several ways since it seamlessly integrates with my daily work in tools like Google Docs, Google Slides, Gmail, and more. For example, in Google Slides, I use the “Beautify This Slide” button along with a prompt to improve my pre-existing slide decks. In Google Docs, I use it similarly to how I use Grammarly for rephrasing written text. I’ve used Gemini to create Google Forms just by adding a prompt for how I intend to use the form. I’ve also used Gemini, like ChatGPT, to create images and graphics.

ChatGPT Agent is an expert-level feature you can use like a virtual assistant. I’ve used it like a real assistant and collaborated with it during what I call “work sessions” asking it to complete a task with my guidance. For example, I wanted to create a directory in Notion and collaborated with my agent to have it log in to my account and customize a new directory based on a template I found. It’s like you have a whole other person using your computer in the background to take care of “busywork” while you do the most important work: running your business. The agent essentially uses its own remote browser to navigate the internet and interact with websites on your behalf. If you wear a lot of hats as a marketer and business owner, Agent can help you feel like you’re not on a team by yourself. Note: you need to be on the paid version of ChatGPT to access the agent features.

Notion is great for storing ideas or organizing projects from the top down, with the added benefit of an AI assistant for quickly synthesizing resources and building workflows, plus recording, summarizing, and transforming notes into deliverables. I think of it as a cross between a project management tool like Trello combined with the AI functions of ChatGPT. It’s also cheaper than ChatGPT, but the trade-off is a learning curve since it is such a comprehensive system.

For All Digital Marketers

Like I said in the beginning, AI being a daily-use technology is still new. Lawmakers, businesses, and consumers are all still figuring out best practices for how to securely and ethically integrate AI into our workplaces and lives. My most important suggestions for digital marketers using AI for business are:

  1. Create official AI Ethics & Standards Guidelines for your digital marketing team. Your business’s IT or Legal Department may have already provided a version of this document company-wide, or it could be included in any Regulatory Compliance Manuals your business is subject to depending on your industry. I recommend having one specific to your digital marketing team as well, just like you would a Branding Guide. It should document things like restrictions on what marketing-related data can be shared with an AI, verbiage for disclosures of AI-generated content, and what AI-related permissions are allowed versus prohibited in standard contracts with external collaborators like influencers.
  2. Turn off “training allowed” settings before using an AI. Having this setting enabled means that the AI developer would retain and use all data provided by your interactions with it in order to improve the AI model. Some programs like ChatGPT are automatically enabled to allow training and would need to be manually turned off. Others, like Gemini, do not have training automatically turned on but may have other settings enabled that give it access to proprietary assets like your Google Workspace. Make sure to fully investigate the settings of any AI you want to use and disable any that make you uncomfortable or open up legal repercussions.

For More Digital Marketing AI Tools & Tips

You may have noticed that I didn’t include any platform-specific AI features of the top social media networks. That’s because there are simply too many to list here! For an updated list of social media updates (AI and otherwise) for your 2026 digital marketing strategies, check out this blog by my team at Go Getter Marketing Group. Also, from my Go Getter, our new “How to Use AI in Digital Marketing: Best Practices for Marketing Teams” blog has more details on the basics of effective, responsible use of AI in digital marketing workspaces.

You can also download my free ebook, “Crafting Irresistible Social Media Messages with AI Magic: Your Blueprint For Success,” to learn all about how to use ChatGPT effectively to craft highly custom social media posts, blog articles, or emails that sound like YOU (plus more techniques and tools to turn you into a fast, efficient AI writing expert).
